Występując jako solista pod pseudonimem The Nigthwatchman wydał następujące albumy:

W 1986 roku ukończył Harvard University w Cambridge (Massachusetts, USA) z tytułem licencjata na kierunku wiedzy o społeczeństwie.

Był członkiem zespołów:
- Rage Against the Machine (1991–2000; 2007–2011; gitara);
- Audioslave (2001–2007; gitara);
- Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (2008–2015; gitara).

Jest członkiem zespołów:
- Other side projects (od 1994 r.; gitara);
- The Nightwatchman (od 2003 r.; gitara);
- Street Sweeper Social Club (od 2006 r.; gitara);
- Prophets of Rage (od 2016 r.; gitara).
